Player & Parent Code of Conduct Agreement
Participation in Louisiana Royalty EYBL is a privilege. Our program represents the state of Louisiana while competing on the Nike Elite Youth Champions League (EYCL) circuit. Players and families are expected to demonstrate integrity, discipline, and respect both on and off the court.
By signing this document, players and parents acknowledge and agree to the following expectations.
Player Code of Conduct
As a Louisiana Royalty athlete, I agree to:
• Show respect to coaches, teammates, referees, opponents, tournament staff, and spectators at all times.
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain a positive attitude regardless of playing time or game results.
• Be coachable, listen to instruction, and accept feedback from coaches and program leadership.
• Represent Louisiana Royalty with character both on and off the court.
• Use respectful language at all times. Profanity, disrespectful comments, or negative behavior toward teammates, coaches, officials, or spectators will not be tolerated.
• Follow all team expectations during travel including respectful behavior in airports, airplanes, hotels, restaurants, and tournament venues.
• Follow curfews, room assignments, and instructions from coaches or team staff during team travel.
• Maintain appropriate personal boundaries and respectful behavior with teammates during team activities and travel.
Parent Code of Conduct
Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting our athletes and maintaining a positive team culture.
Parents agree to:
• Show respect toward coaches, players, referees, tournament staff, and other families.
• Maintain positive sideline behavior and refrain from coaching players during games.
• Avoid confrontations with referees, opposing teams, tournament staff, or other parents.
• Support the coaching staff’s decisions regarding playing time, roles, and game strategy.
• Follow the 24-Hour Rule, meaning parents will wait at least 24 hours after a game before contacting a coach regarding concerns.
• Help reinforce the program’s standards of discipline, respect, and sportsmanship with their athlete.
Playing Time Policy
Louisiana Royalty competes at an elite level of basketball. Playing time is not guaranteed and is determined by the coaching staff based on:
• Effort and attitude
• Practice performance
• Game matchups and strategy
• Team needs and player development
Coaches’ decisions regarding playing time are final
Travel & Public Conduct
Players represent Louisiana Royalty everywhere they travel. During team travel and events, athletes are expected to conduct themselves respectfully in all public settings including:
• Airports
• Airplanes
• Hotels
• Restaurants
• Tournament venues
Players must follow all team curfews, room assignments, and coach instructions during travel.
Failure to follow travel expectations may result in disciplinary action.
Fundraising Expectations
Louisiana Royalty operates through a combination of family contributions, sponsorships, donations, and fundraising efforts to support the significant expenses associated with national-level competition, travel, tournaments, and program operations.
While families contribute to the program, additional fundraising and sponsorship support plays an important role in helping offset costs and expand opportunities for our athletes.
Players and families are expected to support reasonable fundraising initiatives organized by the program. This may include participating in team fundraising efforts, assisting with events, or helping connect Louisiana Royalty with potential sponsors, donors, or community partners.
These collective efforts allow Louisiana Royalty to continue providing athletes with the opportunity to compete at the highest level while representing Louisiana with pride.
Communication Policy
Communication with coaches should remain respectful and professional.
Non-emergency communication from parents or players should occur between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Parents are expected to follow the 24-hour rule regarding concerns after games.
Discipline Policy (Three-Strike System)
Louisiana Royalty maintains a three-strike policy to ensure a positive and respectful team environment.
First Strike
Verbal or written warning issued to the player or parent.
Second Strike
Possible suspension from a game, practice, or team activity.
Third Strike
Removal from the Louisiana Royalty program.
Disciplinary action may occur immediately depending on the severity of the behavior.
Program Authority
Louisiana Royalty reserves the right to suspend or remove any player or parent from the program if their behavior is determined by program leadership to be disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to the team culture.
Participation in Louisiana Royalty is a privilege, not a guarantee. Continued participation is contingent upon adherence to program standards and expectations.
No refunds will be issued if a player or family is removed due to violation of team policies.
“Louisiana Royalty is built on discipline, respect, and accountability. Royalty is earned.”
